SEATTLE: Women’s Training for Climbing Clinic Series

Never Stop Moving is partnering with Seattle Bouldering Project and Mercedes Pollmeier on 4 part clinic series! 

“The mission of the Women’s Training for Climbing Clinic Series is to allow others to learn how to incorporate training techniques off and on the climbing wall to increase performance and reduce the risk of injury.

The goal is to enable women to feel more comfortable using the tools in the gym and performing climbing drills that will help increase their climbing performance in a positive and supportive environment.

The clinic’s are created and run by Mercedes Pollmeier, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and amazing climber at Seattle Bouldering Project.”

Time: 7:00 to 8:30pm
Maximum 10 people per clinic

PART 1: Grip Strength Clinic
Date: February 20th, 2018

Clinic Description: This clinic will cover basics of grips strengthening using a variety of tools, such as the hangboard, a bar, Grippul, rice bucket and body weight movements.

Clinic Goal: To learn the basics of finger strengthening and simple programming for the hangboard and other off the wall exercises.

Part 2: Movement Clinic
Date: February 27th, 2018

Clinic Description: To move with mastery, you must learn the basics of movement. Strength, flexibility, and control will be covered through a variety of ground movements that include locomotion, joint mobility, and balance exercises. The goal of this class is to transfer this idea of body control from the ground to the climbing wall.

Clinic Goal: To learn how increasing body awareness and balance off the wall can improve your climbing.

Part 3: Power Endurance Clinic
Date: March 6th, 2018

Clinic Description: In this clinic you will you be on the wall, doing a variety of power endurance drills that you can use in your training plan.

Clinic Goal: To obtain a variety of new drills to throw in your tool bag to increase your power endurance and overall climbing performance.

Part 4: Strength Training Clinic
Date: March 13th, 2018

Clinic Description: You are only as strong as your weakest link. The idea around strength training is to train weaknesses, balance joint strength, and become an overall badass. In this clinic you will learn the basics of strength training, and basic protocols using rings, weights, and bodyweight movements.

Clinic Goal: To learn how to use rings as a way to develop strength and correct imbalances, shoulder strengthening exercises, ab exercises and basic programming.
